Who is James Huggins?

This is James Huggins..or rather, James Husband.

He is a member of Of Montreal…a rad band if you haven’t heard of them yet.  But if you haven’t, you must be in a cave or something because lately they have been everywhere.  Of Montreal puts on a ridiculously good live show filled with lights, dancing, and COSTUMES.  The size of this band is not petite.  I think there are like 7 members.  Anyway, even though they are all hyped up these days, it is still worth gonig to a show.  The band as a whole is group of amazing musicians and the lead singer sings all those crazy high notes when live…and he does it well!  Thank God.

Anyway, back on topic.

James Huggins is one of the many instrumentalists in the band and he is releasing his own album under the name James Husband.  A Parallax I will be out October 27th on Polyvinyl and has taken 5+ years to come together.  That’s some time.  I can’t help but wonder if will be any good.  I naturally wonder if it will have that Of Montreal psychodelic, fun feel.

Probably not.  For the first time in a while, the person putting out his solo album debut is not the front man of the band.  Hmmm.  I don’t know if that is good thing or not.  I mean, is his voice any good?  If it was, wouldn’t he be the frontmand of Of Montreal?

Anyway, that is that.  I will pay attention to the release simply because I am nosy and want to see if he falls on his face.

on a side note, I will try to look and find some of James’ solo stuff.  I’m really digging what I’m listening to at the moment and don’t want to turn it off to look for his stuff.  Selfish?  Yes.  But Frou Frou is soooooo good!
