Tis true. The two are coming together for Johnny Cash Remixed, which is a compilation of his songs from 1956-1959 that were recorded by his first band Tennessee Two. They are reworked in a CD of remixes. The idea was masterminded by Snoop as the co-executive of the album but this title is also
shared with Cash’s son, John Carter Cash and Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles. Other artists featured in the album include The Heavy, Sonny J, and many others (but I don’t really know who they are).
Snoop is featured on a remix of “I Walk the Line.” When Cash’s son was asked about his father’s blessing for the album he stated that, “My father made his stead defying the expected and accepted way of things. He set the standard at the same time. He would have loved this remix record. While it stays true to the original recordings, the CD touches on undiscovered ground. My father was about staying true to tradition while creating groundbreaking music.”
